A laptop for under $100? Empty A laptop for under $100?

This is actually a bit hard to believe but the former CTO of OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) has made an announcement that they can do it better and cheaper. Their target goal is $75 per laptop. In addition to this price cut they also plan to improve on the capabilities. Now remember correctly that when the OLPC first proposed the XO laptop, it had a target price tag of $100, which makes this one fairly hard to believe that they could do it for even less. One idea (of mine) is that they plan to take a lot of those technologies developed for the OLPC and sell them for a profit so who knows, that might be a plan to help support the laptop. With Asus and their eee laptop, and other venders offering low cost computing, the OLPC hasn't been doing as hot as it'd like to so maybe this could be a change for the better. At $75 for a laptop, I know I'd get one.
